China Suppliers Factory ASTM A269/A270/A213 TP316 Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes for Immediate Shipment
Introduction
ASTM A269 TP316 is a molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel tube, designed for demanding corrosive and high-temperature applications. As part of the 316 family, it incorporates 2.0–3.0% molybdenum (Mo), significantly enhancing its resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chemical attack compared to non-molybdenum grades like TP304. The standard carbon content (≤0.08%) makes it suitable for applications where post-weld heat treatment is feasible or sensitization risks are managed.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between ASTM A269 TP316 and TP304?
ASTM A269 TP316 contains 2.0-3.0% molybdenum, which significantly improves its resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chemical attacks in chloride environments compared to the non-molybdenum TP304 grade.
What are the primary applications for ASTM A269 TP316 tubes?
Due to its high corrosion resistance and mechanical stability at high temperatures, it is commonly used in chemical processing, marine hardware, boilers, heat exchangers, food and pharmaceutical industries, and energy sectors.
What surface finishes are available for these stainless steel tubes?
ASTM A269 TP316 tubes can be supplied in several surface finish options, including bright annealed (BA), polished, electropolished, sandblasted, or pickled finishes.
What are the standard mechanical properties of ASTM A213 TP316?
ASTM A213 TP316 requires a minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa, a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa, a minimum elongation of 35%, and a maximum hardness of 90 HRB or 192 HBW.
What inspections are performed on these tubes to ensure quality?
Quality is verified through 100% PMI testing, EN10204.3.1B mill test certification, and optional third-party inspections. Tubes are checked for size deviations according to standard cold machining tolerances.
Are custom sizes and specifications available?
Yes, sizes and specifications outside the standard range (such as custom Outer Diameters, Wall Thicknesses, or custom packaging options like wooden boxes or steel strips bundling) can be customized upon request.
